Comunidades conducted the traditional Day of the Dead celebration

On October 29, 2022, Comunidades held the Day of the Dead celebration at the community library in Stevenson, WA. The community helped prepare a small altar and some brought pictures of their loved ones to be remembered.

The community also enjoyed a typical Mexican drink called Champurrado (made from corn dough, chocolate and spices), pan de muerto (traditional on this date) and tamales. And there were also information tables from other social organizations, Comunidades volunteers completed applications for the Immigrant Relief Fund due to Covid, and finally, the little ones enjoyed painting little clay skulls.
